Alan D. Strasser

Alan D. Strasser, Attorney

I have wide experience in litigating criminal and civil matters in a variety of trial and appellate courts all across the United States. I have first-chair experience in taking more than 100 jury cases to verdict. I have served as lead counsel on more than 50 appeals in the state and federal courts, and have helped brief many others in both the federal courts of appeal and the Supreme Court. I have appeared in federal courts across the country. I was a partner in the Washington litigation boutique of Robbins, Russell, Englert, Orseck, & Untereiner LLP for 16 years, handling a mix of civil and criminal cases. Before that, I spent many years as a partner in Kutak Rock LLP. I also served in government as, among other things, an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Columbia for more than eleven years, a member of the Frauds Section of the Civil Division of the Department of Justice, and an Associate Independent Counsel. I have advised Congressional Committees about investigations and disputes that arose during the investigations, and served as co-counsel for two Congressional committees in the litigation leading to the Supreme Court’s decision in Mazars v Trump (2020). I taught Professional Responsibility at Georgetown University Law Center in the fall of 2022 and I will teach it again in the fall of 2023.
