Employment Law

I have advised employers and employees on a wide variety of employment issues, including litigation over employee handbooks, trade secrets, covenants not to compete, WARN Act, FLSA and DC Wage Payment Act, and Equal Pay cases, and employment discrimination.

I have advised dozens of executives on issues relating to employment and severance agreements and advised employers on similar issues.

I have conducted internal investigations of allegations of sexual and racial harassment and defended such harassment and discrimination cases in court and arbitration. I have litigated economic disputes that grew out of employment relationships, including disputes over royalties, bonuses, non-compete clauses, and other financial issues. I have represented both employees and employers in such disputes.

Representative matters include:

  • Advised high-level executives in employment continuation and severance dispute with international professional services firm
  • Advised Senior VP on severance negotiation with financial services firm
  • Advised manufacturing executive on severance negotiations with employer
  • Represented lobbyist in law suit against prior firm over unpaid compensation; lobbyist recovered all unpaid compensation
  • Defended lobbying firm in lawsuit brought by former employee seeking allegedly unpaid compensation; suit dismissed with no recovery
